Furthermore, new species of birds are still being discovered in the forests and mountains of Peru. While walking through the different altitudes of the terrain, travelers on the Machu Picchu trek have the opportunity to observe these attractive birds.

Itinerary

1st Day.- Cusco - Huacarpay - Sacsayhuamán

Very early we headed south from the city of Cusco to arrive to Huacarpay Lagoon. This is very important place due to the condition of migratory stop and as an ecosystem of resident birds. We inspect the different ecosystems; reeds and shores of the lake, corps of water, viewpoints, archaeological zone and surrounding mountains. Later we go through the upper area of ​​Cusco where we will have the opportunity to visit the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuamán where we will learn about important aspects of the history of the region without neglecting our exhaustive search for birds.

2nd Day.- Cusco - Sacred Valley – Machupícchu town

Early we go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the route we make stops at archaeological and cultural places such as Chincheros (community that produces fabrics), Salineras de Maras (ancient salt extraction). Always looking for new species of birds. At the bottom of the valley we make a stop at an observatory of hummingbirds and other species. Later we take our train service to go to Machupícchu. 3rd Day.- Machupícchu - Mandor - Ollantaytambo

Very early in the morning we go to the archaeological complex of Machupícchu where we will have an interesting introduction to the history of one of the most iconic cultures of South America. In the place it is possible to visualize "Inca wren", andean guan. Later we walk along the railroad to the place of Mandor, where we will look for representative species of the area. In the afternoon we take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Potential species of birds sighted on this day:

4th Day.- Ollantaytambo – Málaga Pass - Cusco

Very early we headed towards the glacial edge of the Malaga pass, where there is a predominance of the Polilepys tree species, a characteristic species of the glacier tree line. From this place we begin a continuous descent to an area of ​​rocks, on the way we will pass through different ecosystems, with the option of finding different species of birds.
