As soon you arrive to Puerto Maldonado we pick you up from the airport or bus station to go to the Port of Madre de Dios River. During 45 minutes navigating the river in a motorized boat, we arrive at the entrance of Sandoval lake here we will have a short walk that will lead us to our lodge, on the way we will pass through an impressive ecosystem of plants and animals. Later a delicious lunch will welcome us. In the afternoon we will go on an excursion in the lake with a bit of luck we will find the largest otter on the planet with a wingspan of almost 6.5 ft. At the beginning of the night helped by our flashlights we observe alligators and many others nocturnal creatures.
Very early in the morning we will visit the flooded area of the palm trees where the macaws usually congregate by dozens, also some types of parrots assist to the activity. We return to our lodge to have breakfast. Later we hike through the pristine forest in search of more animal and plant species. In the afternoon we return to navigate the lake, we take a different navigation route, looking for monkeys and other type of fauna.
