This makes it a preferred choice for many travelers when deciding where to spend their vacations. This experience is designed for people of all ages. You can do it individually and meet new people, as well as with your partner or friends to share emotions, and also with your family to live an unforgettable adventure.
Our transfer will pick you up at your hotel to take you to the starting point of your tour, between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM. The tour begins at Cusco Cathedral, decorated with exquisite carved woodwork, impressive altars, and beautiful paintings created by local artists from the Cusco School, which contain hidden elements of indigenous thought.
Next, we will take a short walk through the streets of the historic center towards Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun, considered an indigenous religious sanctuary. Here, we will appreciate the exquisite stonework created by the Incas using advanced stone-cutting techniques that result in a seamless fit, so precise that even a sheet of paper cannot be inserted between the stones. Despite earthquakes, these structures have remained stable to this day. After our visit to Qoricancha, we will board a bus that will take us to Sacsayhuaman, located 3km from the city of Cusco. Sacsayhuaman offers us a panoramic view of the city of Cusco. It was constructed using massive limestone blocks weighing between 25 and 130 tons. It consists of three superimposed terraces arranged in a zigzag pattern.
We will also visit Qenqo, which means "labyrinth." It is located one kilometer from Sacsayhuaman and features a construction made of limestone rocks that showcase stone sculpture across an area of 500 square meters. Historians believe that the structures served for astronomical, religious, embalming, and/or mummification purposes.
Next, we will explore Puca Pucara, which derives from the Quechua words "puca" (red) and "pucara" (fortress), meaning "red fortress." It was a strategic location for controlling and monitoring access to and from the Imperial City of Cusco. It served as a territorial border, dividing regions and establishing travel regimes.
Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, a resting place located 9 km from the city of Cusco. It is also known as the "Baths of the Inca" due to its water sources. It is renowned for its constant flowing water, earning it the reputation of "the waters of eternal youth." Tambomachay also offers a portion of the Inca trail that leads from Cusco to Machu Picchu. This city tour in Cusco concludes at approximately 6:30 PM.
