Itinerary

Day 1 - Cusco - Free day

This day they will have free to know the city of Cusco. As is the Church of La Compañía de Jesús, considered one of the greatest exponents of the colonial baroque; La Merced Church and Convent, with Renaissance Baroque cloisters decorated with Plateresque Baroque style chairs; Temple of San Blas, where you can find the most extraordinary work of the Churrigueresque style and the exquisitely carved pulpit. During this journey you can visit Loreto street, the stone of the 12 angles, main square, regocijos square, San Francisco square, San Blas neighborhood, el Sol avenue and the San Pedro market.

Day 2 - Cusco (3,350m) - Visit of the city

The morning or afternoon will have free and then we will consecrate with a visit to the ancient capital of the Inca empire and current archaeological capital of America. The visit begins in the Cathedral, with many altarpieces in gold leaf as well as its paintings that date from the Cusco school, then the Temple of Santo Domingo, where the remains of what was the temple of the sun, better known as Q'oricancha. Continuing with the visit, they will arrive at the archaeological sites, there they will visit the Inca archaeological complexes of Q'enqo, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuamán; strategically built on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco. Its massive stone walls were carved and joined with amazing precision. Some of these stones exceed 9 feet in height and weigh more than 100 tons. Return to the hotel.

Day 3 - The Incas' Sacred Valley

This day we will pick you up from the Hotel to go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will go to the Archaeological Center of Chinchero where we can appreciate the Andean terraces made by the Incas and then we will have an explanation about the process of spinning and dyeing the wool of alpaca, we continue the tour and on the way we will enjoy one of the best views of the sacred valley of the Incas we arrive at the ruins of Pisaq, an impressive construction built in the period of the heyday of the Inca empire. Here we can observe the great work accomplished by the Incas, through endless agricultural terraces that adorn virtually all the mountains around them and fine buildings inhabited by the Inca nobility 500 years ago. After our visit to this ancient Inca citadel, we will visit the modern town of Pisaq, which is located on the right bank of the Urubamba river, and is populated almost entirely by the descendants of the Incas. Here we will visit the artisan market, and we will be able to see how until today people maintain the tradition of exchanging their things or food, just as they did in the past, where they can buy alpaca wool items, silver and gold jewelry, Among others, we continue to Urubamba and on the way they will pass through coya, lamay, calca and yucay, in Urubamba we will have lunch. Then they will continue towards the ollantaytambo fortress, which was built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by the jungle peoples. Then they will have time to take a walk through the streets of Ollantaytambo, also known as the “living Inka city”, because they have still preserved the traces of the ancient Inca empire.

At the end of the tour we go to the train station, where we will board to go to Aguas Calientes, there a staff will wait for you to direct you to the hotel.

Day 4 - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

We will pick you up at the hotel to take the bus from Aguas Calientes to the city of Machu Picchu, the "old mountain", located at the foot of the mountain of the same name. We will visit this jewel of Inca architecture located in the middle of tropical vegetation in a good state of conservation. We can visit its characteristic neighborhoods, squares, royal houses, agricultural areas, streets and observatories. After the guided tour, you will have time to reach the Inti Punku or "Puerta del Sol", located at a height of 2,700 meters that offers a fantastic panoramic view of Machu Picchu. After the visit we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes where we will take the train to Ollantaytambo, there the private transport will pick us up to return to the city of Cusco and leave them at the hotel.

Day 5 - Cusco - Moray - Maras - Cusco

In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel to go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will depart from the town of Moray, an old experimentation center for the acclimatization of wild plants, and we will continue walking towards the town of Maras and its salt flats, considered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Later we went to an inhabitant house in MARAS to be able to have lunch.

 We will continue the walk to go to the town of Pichincoto, where the bus will be waiting for us to return to Cusco.

Finally we will return to Cusco at 2:00 p.m., free afternoon.

Day 6 - Cusco - Puno

We will leave at 06:30 am bound for Puno, we will do it by tourist bus that will stop on the way to visit different archaeological sites, Andahuaylillas, and then continue with the archaeological sites of Raqchi, stop for lunch at the restaurant (included), and then continue we will pass through sicuani, the line and then visit the archaeological sites Pukara, the guide who will travel with us will show us on the way places of cultivation and towns that still follow the Inca traditions, We will arrive at 5:00 pm, where A staff awaits them to take them to the hotel.

Day 7 - Puno - Uros (3.812m) - Amantaní (3.850m)

During the day we will visit Lake Titicaca and its islands by boat, the tour begins to discover the floating islands of the Uros, famous for their particular lifestyle. These Aymara populations, in fact, build their houses on large cane rafts, tied with poles so that they do not drift. The communities that live on these floating islands make their living from fishing, handicrafts, hunting, and raising hens for eggs, which are then sold in the city of Puno. The tour continues to the island of Amantani, here we can take a short walk along the trails that run through the island. You can also climb Mount Pachatata (4,200 m) from which we will have a spectacular view of the Cordillera Real between Peru and Bolivia and the natural landscape around Lake Titicaca; weather permitting, we will be able to watch the sun set over the lake and the surrounding mountains. Night in a rural house.

Day 8 - Amantani - Taquile (3.900m) - Puno

Today we will leave the island of Amantani towards Taquile, an island covered with terraced fields as used since the time of the Incas, where the inhabitants still live in a traditional way, in a kind of communism, where the property is private. but the work is collective; the 300 inhabitants work one day for themselves and one day for the other members of the community. The people of Taquile are completely self-sufficient and still live according to the Inca rules and principles of "do not steal, do not lie and do not be lazy", habits they have maintained for centuries. From the top of this island you have a magnificent view of the lake, the bay of Puno to Bolivia (Cordillera Real) and the Altiplano, this will be a reward for the effort made to get there. Return to Puno in the afternoon.

Day 9 - Puno - Airport (Juliaca)

Today in the morning we will accompany you to the airport to take the flight back.
